The βGFPβ (Ginger Food Photographer) is a food photographer in the DFW area that focuses on locally owned restaurants.

The boys from club:sandwich made another breathtaking stop when we hit @fortunate_son_gtx for the goods.
Having recently visited New Haven, I feel even more qualified to tell y’all about it.
In true New Haven fashion we ordered the OGs. The OGs are a tomato pie, basic (cheese) and a white clam pie. The trick with the clam is to add bacon, but we took it up a notch with pancetta.
In addition to being known for the basics listed above they’re also known for the Jackson Pollock style cutting, a bit of chaos. Stretched to 16” and 22” these pies boast a crispy exterior crust with a good chew and a charming undercarriage. The tomato sauce you could drink from a bottle and the cheese pie is a crowd pleaser. The clam isn’t for everyone but it’s a favorite of mine.
In addition to these heavenly pies, we snagged three of their sandwiches and a bombolini made by @donutman.gtx. I’m not much of a sweets guy but if @daniel_eating_dallas is at your table, just expect to order something. It was incredible. An Italian filled donut with a bananas foster filling and chocolate chips. Elite.
This one of those places I’d go out of my way to get back to and I think you should, too.

However, @fonddallas is one of the select handful of establishments focusing on quality pizza. This is their weekday Tavern pie mixed in with beauty shots of a beautiful restaurant space.
I went with the classic cheese and their version of a meat lovers. Quality ingredients, really flavorful cheese and sauce with a great fennel sausage and roni cups. Perfect size to order one for yourself or two and eat them both and disregard the empty stares from other patrons and staff.
If I’m being picky, I could have had it a touch crispier but knowing DFW… I’d imagine someone would get it the way I like it and consider it burnt.
After I housed these two pies they told me I had to try the soft serve which admittedly I declined because I just housed two pizzas. However, I know not what’s best for myself and there it sat awaiting me… and wow was I wrong. It was exceptional. Chocolate and toasted sesame dressed with a little olive oil. It was gone in seconds.
TL:DR - another spot is making great pies, made by great people in a beautiful space. Go soon.

Having tried the restaurant a few times before but never getting such exposure to the menu, I can confidently say you should add it to your rotation.

It’s Friday so that means lines, ice cold @lonestarbeer and Texas BBQ.
Stopped by @north_texas_smoke to see Derek on Father’s Day weekend and congratulate him on the recent success of making Texas Top 50!
He was like a kid in a candy store especially when he was started showing me the plans for his brick and mortar. The food, was just as good, if not better than what I remember. Ribs shining like a candy painted slab fresh out the car wash. Sausages and brisket so good you didn’t want to stop.
Sides feeling like main dishes and on special was the pork belly fried rice that admittedly I stopped eating just so I could eat it again for dinner. We’re blessed with an abundance of BBQ in North Texas, get out of your comfort zone and make the drive to Decatur to see him and the team.

Remember how I said we ate 11 sandwiches and I only posted 7.
Well here are the other 4 from the beginning of our sandwich excursion where we visited @ilbraccorestaurant and @bobbiesairwaygrill.
Of course we had to start with the Focaccia and whipped ricotta which is basically heaven on a plate. From there they came out one by one… Italian, chick sando, burgggg and the off menu meatball.
Again, they bake all their own bread and put every ounce of heart into the sandwiches. Crafted with the finest details and each one fighting to identify as the best. But that meatball sando put my taste buds in a headlock. I’m still thinking about.

Jus wouldn’t believe we had 11 sandwiches this day. < that’s a sandwich pun. Welcome to Club:Sandwich, yet another exclusive group of middle aged men sampling their favorite foods.
But yeah, you read that right. We ate 11 sandwiches between 2 restaurants in the span of 3 hours.
Because we ate 11 sandwiches, I’m going to give each restaurant its own time to shine. We started at Il Bracco and finished here @bobbiesairwaygrill. For fun, I decided to post these first.
They make their own bread… a detailed often overlooked but truly the staple behind a great sandwich. Fresh. Bread. Oh those biscuits.. slap yo mama good.
Each sandwich was meticulously crafted over time with a thought and passion for curating the perfect sandwich. When you’re swiping, I have to wonder who was more excited about the chili cheese dog… the server? Or us! Spoiler, I was the most excited.
I wish I could tell you about all of them but you probably haven’t even read this far.
I’ll say the Tuna and Falafel were truly awe inspiring. The chili cheese dog and Italian dip are worth naming your kids after. The club was flawless. And the burger and chicken sandwiches would hold their own in a street fight with their competitors.

The cheesecake and donut holes were breathtaking, meaning I couldn’t take a breath because I didn’t want to stop.

Life is about balance… they balanced a tray full of tacos and I ate em.
It used to be you could only be LUCKY ENOUGH to get tacos from @vaquerostxbbq on Thursday taco nights at the food trailer. But, lucky for us with the recent move to the special brick and mortar you can get them on certain days through the week for lunch or dinner with birria served everyday.

Yeah, we are aware of the table pancakes and how incredibly good they are at @encinadallas.
Well everything on the brunch menu is solid, but what if I told you the dinner menu was just as star studded? Swipe to see some of the superstars I’m talking about.
The pastrami beef cheek and hatch chili and pepper jack bratwurst were our favorites for sure. But each one of these plates are uniquely special and I challenge you to try them all!
While their brunch is famous, the dinner deserves the same recognition. Look out for my article coming in April where I break it all down in Avid Golfer magazine.
